Cardozo’s Pub is one of over a dozen restaurants under 8 Hospitality LLC, a Rossi company. 8 Hospitality LLC is part of the $10.1 million contract with Seventy-Seven Community Catering LLC signed by the city hall in January, for food supply to immigrants. The chairman of Seventy-Seven Community is Joseph Buonavolanto, whose family owns Buona Beef restaurant. Buona paid $3,600 to Del Sandro for lobbying city officials.
Carol said Del Sandro did not lobby for Buona to hire Rossi as a subcontractor, and Buona would not disclose how much they paid Rossi under city contracts. The mayor Johnson made a plan to repair storefronts in Loop, with R2 and Rossi receiving two of the six grants issued.
